These questions never end. There are many types of massage in the world, and they are all recognised in the name of ‘massage’. The problem here lies in the lack of understanding of how different types of massage are classified. A name of a massage could refer to where the massage was born and developed, while another could refer to techniques used in the massage. Others are referred to by the name of equipment used, and others by the environment where the massage is performed.

This is like mixing up all the different words referring to cooking methods or cuisines such as Spanish food, sushi (Japanese), low-temperature cooking, salt crust cooking, Atkins Diet, royal cuisine and baby food.
